MARTA MIRANDA
CONTEMPORARY DANCER-ARTIST
01 about Me

My name is Marta Miranda da Costa Pinto. I was born on the 10.10.1995 in Portugal. I am Portuguese but since my teenage years I have lived in Switzerland, Holland and Poland. I believe the experience of living abroad has given me an open mind and curiosity about the world. I see myself as an honest, intuitive and down to hearth person full of determination.
I have been dancing since I can remember. Its something in my life that has always strongly been present. It is my passion. As a naturally shy kid, dancing was my way of expressing my self and to communicate. To me dance is communication. A way of sharing. Art in general brings people together and for me this is one of the biggest gifts of my profession. I believe there is no right or wrong in Art and to me the most important thing is that it will have an effect on my self and others. Dance can generate creativity, new ideas, new perspectives and heal.
I learned so much about myself through dance. It is a way for me to get to know myself at a deeper level, to grow and explore and to not be afraid.
My goal is to keep curious. To take head on every challenge that faces me both in my artistic and personal life.
Dance is something beautiful that's far from perfection which explores all aspects of our complex world.

"Ser" by Marta Miranda
"Dancing is about being in the moment. It’s about listening to the scope of sensations and allowing that listening to become the fuel of all feelings, forms, and content. Yet, we should always remember where we came from." - Ohad Naharin
